Come worship God.
God calls us together to show our love for Him (Luke 7:47) by worshipping Him. Read the moving passage in Luke 7:36-50 where we are shown what kind of worship Jesus expects. To worship we come together Sundays at 18:30 at the Rotherhithe Free Church where we hold an Afrikaans worship service.

We plan to start English services asap. Please register to interest.

F.A.Q.

How long is the service?
The service lasts just under an hour.

What do I wear?
Whatever you want.

Is there parking?
Yes, on the church grounds.

Can children come?
Children are more than welcome.

What happens if I'm late?
Nothing; come on in.

What will the hour look like?
The service begins at 18:30 and there will be people at the door to greet you and give you an order of service. They are also the ones to ask if you have any questions from where the toilets are to how to become a member. Don't worry if you're late; come in and enjoy the service with us.

We usually have a few announcements and anyone is welcome to say or ask anything. The same goes for the prayer points which we talk about before we start singing. You can offer prayer points or give feedback about previous prayer points. After we've decided what we'll pray for during the service we open with prayer and singing.

We sing songs that come from the Bible of which the words will be projected on the screen.

The last song that we sing is usually one in which we confess our sin. After we've done this we hear the benediction of the Lord. We profess our faith together and then pray to God to ask that He make His Word clear to us when we listen to it. When we've read the Bible together we listen to the sermon. The idea is to understand the text better, especially to understand what Jesus' death and resurrection means for our salvation.

After the sermon the minister uses the prayer points named and leads us in prayer. We then give our offerings after which we sing one more time. The Lord then sends us with His blessing into the world.

After the service we spend time together and have tea, coffee or juice; there is usually a snack, as well. Only when everyone is finished chatting do we start to lock up the building.
